This topic was born out from a funny imagination I had while reading a particular book. The book is a kind that teaches us on the right imagination and how we can see ourselves competent to face anything rather than dwell in the Shell of self criticism and mediocrity. While reading, a subject matter popped up a thought in my heart about the two little pets we acquired newly from our neighbors. They are dogs precisely, my family just took two from the number of the puppies. My dad kept them in a small and warm confinement because they are puppies. On the long run we always fed them with nutritious meals and even milk at times, that of my neighbor’s were left to roam and fend for themselves with the bitch.
Few months after i discovered that the ones left to roam about, that’s my neighbor’s grew so taller and more huge than the ones we catered for but kept in a small confinement. I began to wonder why so? My eyes of understanding were opened and the spirit of God made me understand that, our growth to God’s desired level depends on the kind of confinement we keep ourselves, in other words our mindset. That means this puppies can not ever grow beyond the confinement we’ve kept them, the way we see them, and even the mindset they have towards themselves.
Now let’s narrow it down to the human race, too many times we’ve heard how we are created in God’s image and likeness, created to be great and give God the glory in all aspects of our lives. But sometimes we are held captive by our mindset, what we think about ourselves, how we accept the opinion of others above the great and mighty gifts the Lord has put in us. Some of us have taken our comfort zones in many negativities like fear of the unknown, fear of failure, mediocrity, fear of being rejected and the rest.
Allow me to recap what the scriptures say in
Proverbs 23:7A:
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he
This verse futher explains and affirms the fact that we cannot grow above our mindset, our thoughts and imaginations about ourselves.
Now let’s take a look at YOU, yes I mean YOU!
What is your mindset?
Is it shallow or great?
How do you always feel about yourself when someone tells you things you didn’t even know you are capable of ?
How much do you desire growth?
Where do see yourself in ten years from now?
These are questions that will give you a clearer view of your growth and your mindset. Anything thing you desire, comes into manifestation when it has taken over 80% of your mindset. God may want to take us higher to mighty levels He considers best for us but too many of us chose the small confinement of mediocrities. Friends it’s not too late to work on your minset, fight against that thought, that opinion, that negative suggestion, that self-critisim that always keeps you back from fufilling God’s Divine pupose. Always see yourself through God’s eyes and your life will never remain the same, for your growth depends on your mindset.
Remember God’s words in Genesis 1:26 (NKJV):
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
You can be what God wants you to be, great, successful, fufilled because the dominion and power has been given to you from creation.
For those of you imagining what happened to my dogs, I must confess they are very much better now. (Laughter)
Thanks for sharing
I really needed this
